We have 2 Vocational Training Centres that aim to provide widows and war-surviving women with vocational skills that will allow them to support themselves without having to rely on a provider, giving them a new independence.

The 2 Vocational Training Centres are located in Valaichennai and Vavuniya, Sri Lanka.

In Valaichenai, the Church building serves as the training center, where the women are how to bake, and paint which gives them the ability to earn income for themselves and their young families.

In Vavuniya, we have a separate building for the Training Center where these young women learn computer skills, sewing, embroidery, leather product crafts and beauty culture. These young women are certified by the Vocational Training Authority at the completion of these courses making them eligible to find legitimate jobs in each corresponding industry. We currently have 73 students and 40 of them reside at the school.

HOW CAN I HELP?

• $25/Scientific Dress-Making Course per person (salary of the teacher + materials)
• $500 per computer (we currently need 5 machines)
• $50/Information Technology course per person (salary of the teacher + materials)
• $20/Leather Craft Course per person (salary of the teacher + materials)
• $75/per month for each youth who reside at the school(food + medical + clothing + utilities)
