The Agapao Foundation has been working on building tube wells in villages in dry zones around the Island. We have also informed of the need of tube wells in new settlements in the North Western region of Sri Lanka since the end of the Civil War in 2009.
However, because of the recent rains across the island since December 2010, this project has been on hold.
Below is a list of potential villages and populations where the tube wells will be built as per recommendation by the SL Army. The following locations are close to where we held our most recent medical camp (July 2010) near the Madhu Church in the Mannar area (North West of the Island).

The SL Army are sending another 3 reports on 3 other areas that they recommend the Tube Wells to be built. From the reports we will be able to make a final decision on where the wells will be built. The weather has still been rather unpredictable with lots of scattered showers across the island.
We will continue to keep you updated as the project begins.
