The Ron Williams family was appointed in 1969 as Foursquare missionaries to Hong Kong where Dr. Williams served as Supervisor of the Hong Kong and Macao Foursquare work from 1973 to 1985.
After serving for several years as a linguist with the U.S. Air Force, which responsibility necessitated a lengthy time of service in Asia, Dr. Williams returned to the United States to study at L.I.F.E. Bible College where he graduated in 1965. With his wife, Carole, and family, he ministered in Western Canada in such capacities as pioneer pastor, Bible college faculty and youth ministries.
Such varied experience proved valuable for the Williams, as their ministry in Hong Kong included supervision of churches and pastoral care; social concern ministries, such as a Christian high school of over 500 students; the Macao Foursquare Gospel Children's Home; and counseling care to the elderly, as well as outreach to the People's Republic of China in cooperation with other religious agencies.
Dr. Williams also served from 1979 to 1982 as Coordinator of the Asian Council of Foursquare Missions, also known as Eastern Council of Foursquare Churches, which seeks to further extend the Gospel of Jesus Christ into new areas of Asia as well as encourage cooperation among the Foursquare workers in the most populated continent on the world.
Ron and Carole returned to the States in 1985 to assume ministry at the headquarters of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel where Ron served as the Communications Officer and Editor of the Foursquare World ADVANCE magazine, which circulation exceeded 98,000 until November 1, 2002. From 1985 - 1995, he was an adjunct faculty at L.I.F.E. Bible College in the subjects of Theology and Missions. From June 1986 to November 1990, his nightly radio broadcast, "FOURSQUARE MISSIONS UPDATE," was heard from 9 to 9:15 p.m. on KFSG-fm in the Los Angeles area, as well as on KHIS-fm, serving the San Joaquin Valley from Bakersfield, California. From 1986 until February 2003, he hosted the radio program, AA Fresh Start,@ broadcast on KFSG-fm, in Los Angeles, and KTLW-fm, across the U.S. He served as Special Council to the President – ICFG until October 2004. From October 2004 until October 2007, Ron has served as the denomination’s historian and doctrinal consultant. In October 2007, he officially retired from that position, while continuing to serve as Teaching/Missions pastor at Family Life Center (Foursquare), in Wofford Heights, California.
November 1987 - May 2000, Dr. Williams served as an official member on the denomination's Board of Directors, and continued to serve as an advisor/consultant, to the Board until November 2002. He served on the Executive Board of the International Pentecostal Press Association and from May 1994 through September 1998, as its president. He has served on the Executive Committee of the North American Pentecostal Press Association since 1990, and from 1992 to 1994, as its president. In addition to the above, from October 1994-October 2005, Dr. Williams was the Office Manager or the Treasurer for the Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America, Chairman of the Press Relations Committee for the Pentecostal World Conference, and was coordinator of the 19th Pentecostal World Conference, conducted in Los Angeles, California, May 29-31, 2001.
Because of his broad range of ministry, Ron was honored in 1989 by the American Christian Leadership Council for his Christian Leadership. He was included in the 1992/1993 edition of Who's Who in Religion for demonstrating outstanding achievement and contribution to the betterment of society.
